In November 2019, we brought together 300 business leaders, scientists, policy-makers and opinion-formers at the Royal Institution.

2019 saw ‘climate emergencies’ declared in countries across the world, as the risks of inaction became impossible to ignore. The 2019 programme explored trusted and sustainable ways of working, and asked how citizens, organisations and nations can challenge ‘business as usual’ to help shape the future.

An interview with Mathieu Flamini at the Summit 2019 by broadcaster Samira Ahmed.

Mathieu is a partner of GFBiochemicals, the leading global producer of levulinic acid and derivatives. He co-founded the business in 2008 with the ambition of finding sustainable alternatives to oil-based products. Mathieu is also a professional football player, having played at AC Milan, Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
